The Australian Friends of Tel Aviv University (Vic) Inc is a group committed to the nurturing of higher education, as well as the development of some of Israel’s best minds. For four decades we have enthusiastically pursued the advancement of TAU in the world by raising money, awareness and influence. We serve as a dynamic bridge between two inspired communities — Australian and Israeli.
Throughout the year and country, we offer a stimulating variety of cultural, social and educational activities: special briefings, international conferences, intimate get-togethers, and more formal events. As an Australian Friend, you’ll have access to some of the best leaders and thinkers from all over the world.

Inspiring Alumni
When the Tel Aviv University Alumni Organization was established in May 2015, it was decided that its focal goal would be strengthening the ties between the alumni and the university, and among the alumni themselves. Such bonds are highly beneficial for both parties: while influential, inspiring alumni enhance the value and reputation of the university, a renowned, outstanding university raises the value of every graduate’s degree.
Gideon Saar
Gideon Saar, Lawyer, Journalist and former minister of the Interior and minister of Education in the Israeli Government, graduated from TAU’s Buchmann faculty of law and from the faculty of Social Sceinces. As part of Tel Aviv University’s Alumni Organization’s Inspiring Alumni project, in cooperation with WALLA! News, he explains why he believes our times require us to get the broadest education we can.
Prof. Jonathan Halevi
Prof. Jonathan Halevy, Director General of Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem, graduated with the first class of Tel Aviv University’s faculty of Medicine, takes part in Tel Aviv University’s Alumni Organization’s Inspiring Alumni project in cooperation with Walla! Chief Executive Officer and President of Israel Discount Bank Limited, Lilach Asher Topilsky, Alumna of Economics & Management at Tel Aviv University, joins our Inspiring Alumni project in cooperation with Walla! News and tells us how she took a new way of thinking which she got at TAU all the way to the top of the Israeli banking.
Dr. Daniel Gold
Dr. Daniel Gold has graduated four degrees in Tel Aviv University’s faculty of Engineering and faculty of Management, and the people of Israel have all been grateful to the fruits of his research, as the “Iron Dome” system he developed defended us all during the 2014 Operation “Protective Edge”. As part of TAU Alumni Organization’s Inspiring Alumni project in cooperation with Walla! News, Dr. Gold told us what in the learning process allowed him to think outside of the box and invent such an important and inspiring technology.
